I, like many of you, simply cannot wait for the upcoming Shreveport Mudbugs' hockey season. It feels like forever since we've seen the 'Bugs take the ice. In reality, it's been five years since the 'Bugs won it all and skated off into the sunset.

Now, they are back, and playing in their old stomping grounds at the Hirsch Coliseum, now known as George's Pond. The Mudbugs' ownership group have renovated the old barn from top to bottom, and I'm personally excited to see the Hirsch back to it's old beautiful self.

The arena, that was step one.

Step two came just last week when the Mudbugs announced their head coach. Former player, Karlis Zirnis was named top-dog at Twisted Root in front of a packed house full of excited fans.

The coach is in, now for step three... THE PLAYERS!

Yesterday, the Mudbugs took part in their first-ever NAHL Draft. They snagged 14 top prospects, who we all simply can't wait to see rocking the teal and running the ice.

The 'Bugs scored the second overall pick in their first draft, and called upon a 19-year-old from Grand Rapid, MI. Jared Domin was selected with the Mudbugs' first pick, and he is thrilled to get to Shreveport.

Jared joined me today during the #5OClockDiscDrive, but in case you missed it, I've got you covered!

Here's your first look at Jared Domin!
