Microsoft Deveolops Software that Smooths out First Person movies

It's a new world, I spend a large part of my day thinking about stuff to put on the internet. That includes making and editing video. I saw something pretty incredible that might help me do my job better. It's a new program that takes a video and smooths it out by taking the information and translating it into 3D then back into 2D (for the video). Does any of that make sense?
