Coming off of her World Recurve Archery Championship win in Croatia, Caddo Magnet High School Senior Miriam Trafford took some time out of her already-busy schedule to chat with KEEL Morning Show hosts Robert J. Wright and Erin McCarty.

Miriam said she's been shooting bows since she was 2 1/2 years old and started competing not too many years after that. Her hope is to make the Olympic team.

"First you have to go to the world trials," she said. "Then you have to make the cut in order to go overseas."

Miriam hasn't tried out for the team yet, because she wasn't old enough. But she has traveled to nearly 70 countries to compete. "My house is more like a hotel," she said.

Her plan is go to the U.S. Naval Academy after graduation, and she's hoping to continue to pursue her archery competing while she's doing that.
