Miss Louisiana 2015 April Nelson Stops by K945 to Chat About Children’s Miracle Network

April Nelson has got to be one of the funniest and most charming people I've ever met.

If you watched the 2015 Miss America Pageant, you saw April Nelson from Louisiana come dangerously close to taking the crown. After spending some time with her in studio, it's easy to see why she went so far.

April is extremely kind and wildly talented, but she is outright hilarious too!

She was in the SBC last week visiting area schools as well as the 17 programs that are funded by Children's Miracle Network at Christus Health. Miss America partners with Children's Miracle Network and the Misses all over the country are heavily involved with area hospitals.

Before the Miss America Pageant, April visited KIDS Clinic and met Carson, who calls her his "dear friend the Queen of Louisiana." Carson is a huge fan of Julie Andrews and the Sound of Music. He and April sang together and it was this moment that inspired her to sing the same song at the pageant.

We chatted about just about everything, including that moment she went to KIDS Clinic and was borderline upstaged by Santa himself. I then had a super serious question to ask her at the end that would dictate if she would wear the crown of Miss K945.
