“Modern Family” Cast Suing Studio

Several "Modern Family" cast members are suing 20th Century Fox over their current contracts. The Hollywood Reporter printed that stars Julie Bowen, Sofia Vergara, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet are suing the studio and rejecting their latest contract offer.

According to THR, the actors, now including Ed O'Neill, want to void their contracts, claiming they violate a labor code stating that personal service contracts lasting more than seven years cannot be enforced.

Deadline.com reports that a table read scheduled for Tuesday was canceled after the cast and producers could not agree on a new contract.
