NBC announced Thursday that it has canceled the low-rated sitcom "Animal Practice".

Just in case you blocked it out of your memory, it was the sitcom that NBC previewed during the closing ceremonies of the London Olympics. The show stars "Weeds"' Justin Kirk as a veterinarian at a New York animal hospital, and Crystal, a Capuchin monkey whose credits include "The Hangover 2" and "Community".

In happier news, the monkey is set to host an upcoming episode of "Saturday Night Live" and has signed a three-picture deal with Sony. Silver linings, folks...
