Even the most avid LSU fans realize that their beloved Tigers are a long - okay, very long - shot to make college football's final four and have a chance at this year's national championship. But some experts differ. And a number of those experts write for Sports Illustrated, experts who think that Les Miles' boys still have a chance to sneak in.

Says columnist Zack Ellis:

"With quality victories, a good loss and a strength of schedule that ranks 19th nationally, LSU has a playoff caliber resume."

Reporter Lindsay Schnell:

"What happens if LSU goes out and smashes Ole Miss, which beat Alabama? Answer: Chaos, and the Tigers posibly bak in the top four."

Writer Joan Niesen:

"I think LSU's strength of schedule trumps those of the rest of the teams outside the top four. A one loss SEC team tops undefeated teams from the Big 10 and Big 12."
