Shreveport's National Night Out will be here before you know it! This year's National Night Out is scheduled for Tuesday, October 2nd in Shreveport and Sergeant Jim Taliaferro urges citizens to register their 'block party' sooner than later!

Just a little over a week left to register your block for Shreveport Night Out Against Crime.  We are receiving so many applications for barricades that we don't want your block to be left out.  So visit us on the city's web page, www.shreveportla.gov and download the registration forms and mail it in as soon as you can.
Registration forms can also be mailed out to our citizens by calling 673-7000, 673-6985 or 673-6950 and we'll get your paperwork in the mail. Then we will look forward to seeing y'all on Tuesday, October 2nd for a great evening of fellowship.
Participants may also fax their registration information to Shreveport Police Department, 673-7013
According to the Shreveport Police Department website, National Night Out brings communities together.
National Night Out is celebrated throughout the City of Shreveport. More than 200 city blocks usually participate in the annual National Night Out, which takes place the first Tuesday of every October. Sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and co- sponsored by the Shreveport Police Department, the nationwide event is designed as a time for neighbors to get to know each other to prevent crime and drug use in their communities.
