According to local news sources, in Dallas, Texas a suspected dog fighting ring was broken up and nearly 40 dogs were seized. 21 of the dogs were suspected to be fight dogs.

Apparently training equipment and medical supplies were found on scene.

It takes a sick person to treat an animal in such a cruel way. As someone who doesn't jump to anger quickly, I find pure hatred for people like this and genuinely wish the worst for them.

"In Texas, dog fighting is a felony, punishable by up to two years in state jail and/or a maximum $10,000 fine," Jason Vaughn of the Hayride reports. "It is also a Class A misdemeanor to possess, manufacture or sell animal fighting paraphernalia, own or train a dog with the intent to fight it and to be a spectator at a dog fight. Such misdemeanors are punishable by up to one year in jail, a fine of up to $4,000, or both. Federal law also prohibits any interstate or foreign transport of fighting animals."

The worst part about this is that the animals were not the focus of the search. The animals were found when the Dallas Police Narcotics SWAT were on another assignment. That is when the SPCA was notified.
