Good news! We may be looking hotter out on the lake this year.

Did you know that March is National Nutrition Month? Me neither. However, it's fairly convenient to have a month dedicated to healthy habits during the same time as Lent. Typically, you're giving up unhealthy food during this time, so why not slap a title like "National Nutrition Month" on there too?

Maybe we took that title to heart and applied it over the last year.

A year ago, we told you that a recent study had found that the Shreveport-Bossier metroplex was one of the fattest in the country. We came in at number two on that list behind Memphis. This year however, we dropped on the list, thus becoming less fat.

Thinner, in other words.

Despite all of the delicious food we have at our disposal, we came in at number five on the list of Fattest Cities in America published by WalletHub. I see this as an accomplishment. We now fall behind McAllen, Texas, Little Rock, Arkansas, Memphis, Tennessee, and Jackson, Missouri (who took the top spot).

Their findings are based on the number of people considered to be obese or overweight, health problems related to weight and the environment in which we live.

We're well on our way to those Baywatch bodies!
