Two time Bachelorette loser Nick Viall will return to viewers' television sets once more, as ABC has named him the next star of The Bachelor in its upcoming Season 21.

The network announced the news during last night’s (August 30) episode of After Paradise, the after-show of the franchise's spin-off, Bachelor in Paradise.

"I'm definitely ready for it — I'm really excited,” Viall told co-hosts Michelle Collins and Sean Lowe via The Hollywood Reporter. "I couldn't be more excited about the possibility of it working out.”

Viall -- clearly unable to accept the fact that maybe true love can't be found on a manipulative reality show, no matter how hard or how often you try -- was the runner-up on two separate seasons of The Bachelorette. He lost out to Josh Murray on Andi Dorfman's 2014 season and then again to Shawn Booth during Kaitlyn Bristowe's 2015 season.

He is currently competing on Bachelor in Paradise, because Viall apparently has no shame.

While Viall expressed his excitement for his forthcoming stint as the new Bachelor, fans weren’t quite as thrilled, and they made their upset known on Twitter.

Even Season 12's Bachelorette contestant Chad Johnson -- who quickly became the season's villain and took all entertaining aspects of the show with him when he was dismissed by JoJo Fletcher early on -- commented on the surprising pick.

Check out a roundup of reactions below -- both positive and negative!

But not everyone is opposed to Viall as the new Bachelor.
