Erik Roner, star of MTV's Nitro Circus, died Monday after suffering injuries from a skydiving accident in Olympic Valley, CA, Placer County Police report.

Authorities say that the 39-year-old was part of a group conducting a skydiving stunt for a celebrity golf tournament when he crashed into a tree and was left hanging above the ground.

"We lost a member of our Nitro Circus family today," fellow athlete and Nitro Circus co-star Chad Kagy posted on Facebook. "We are all heart broken and surprised to lose Erik Roner."

And Kenny Bartram posted, "I am saddened by the news of losing one of our Nitro brothers today. I'm gonna miss you Erik Roner . Just doesn't seem real . I'm at a loss. Please pray for his family."

Roner leaves behind a wife and two children. The accident is currently being investigated by the FAA.
