Shreveport firefighters spent nearly an hour battling a house fire in the 900 block of Lincoln Street.

Fire Department Spokesman Scott Wolverton tells KEEL News the fire was called in shortly before 8:15 this morning. Crews arrived minutes later to find a one-story wood-frame home fully engulfed in flames. They got the blaze under control shortly after 9.

The 46-year-old resident was rescued from the burning house by someone from a business next door. He was treated at the scene for minor injuries. He was not taken to the hospital.

Investigators say the fire originated in the kitchen area, but they're still trying to determine the exact cause.
