To some in this area C.E. Byrd High School is known as "Haunted High."

C.E. Byrd High School in Shreveport is known to many as “Haunted High.” Long ago the school had many activities for its students, like an indoor swimming pool and a gun range.

Word of the school’s history when it comes to pranks is secret to none.

A prank gone wrong caused one girl to drown in the pool. Fear of future liability caused the school to seal off the pool in the basement, now called the Catacombs. Tragedy struck again when an ROTC sergeant was killed by a gun shot to the face. It was ruled an accident.

The ghosts of the girl and sergeant still roam the halls of Byrd High School. Sounds of gunshots and muffled cries for help can still be heard.

Maybe the biggest prank on Haunted High is the two undead souls reeking havoc on all those in attendance.
