Northwestern State and Louisiana Tech will renew an old rivalry this weekend when the Demons and Bulldogs meet at Joe Aillet stadium in Ruston.

The two teams have played each other only once since 1987 after meeting for fifty consecutive seasons in the Louisiana State Fair Classic played here in Shreveport.

NSU Athletic Director Greg Burke has come out to say he hopes the game can return to Shreveport in the future. The two teams were once conference foes, but Louisiana Tech left the Southland Conference in 1986 evnetually becoming a Division 1 program, now known as the Football Bowl Subdivision.

I caught up with NSU Head Coach Jay Thomas to ask him how familiar he and his players are with the old rivalry.
