Getting kids to make, follow, or alter a schedule is as easy as herding cats.  Heck, it's not much easier if you are working with adults!  I know this for a fact.  Trying to get my 8 year old on any semblance of a schedule is a Herculean task, and it's only going to get worse.  All he has to do now is get up, get dressed, and get to the bus so he isn't late to W.T. Lewis (Go Bulldogs!).  Sure, he has chores and he helps out around the house - but there's no real schedule to it.  Just wait until we add in his tutor, karate, soccer, and possibly boy scouts next year.  It will be chaos!

Luckily, technology has my back.  Enter the Octopus Watch.

The picture above may look like an ordinary watch, but it is not.  It is, in fact, a miracle.  The Octopus watch works with a scheduling app on your smartphone.  It has over 600, easy to understand icons that represent chores, tasks, and appointments.  When the predetermined time arrives, an icon and the title of the event (walk the dog, get ready for bed, etc.) pops up with an alarm to remind the wearer what they are supposed to be doing.  Once the task is complete, the wearer marks it as complete on the Octopus watch and that information is updated on your smartphone!  This is a quantum leap for schedule making, as it miniaturizes the huge checklist we've been using for years and it adds key features to the whole process like instant notifications for updates.  The best thing is, it helps kids understand the absolute need for schedules.  This is an invention that will help parents keep their sanity, and help the kids grow up to be more efficient and successful adults. Deacon is definitely getting one! One last thing, check out how it charges!
