According to The American Time Use Survey residents of Louisiana spend more time relaxing, thinking,  and praying than other states.

While Louisiana is the relaxation state, Alabama and Mississippi are the sleep capitals of the US, both states clock in averaging 9 hours of sleep per night.

Overall Southerners spend the most time relaxing and thinking, which may be an extension of the time they spend on religious and spiritual activities. Praying and relaxing may lead to more sleep naturally.

I understand the relaxing part, but what is all this thinking leading to?. It's not exactly like we're surrounded by this era's Ralph Waldo Emerson, Plato, or Niccolo Machiavelli, in the South or the rest of the country for that matter. I'll have to think on that.
