It was a lucrative holiday weekend for Hollywood studios with five movies raking in $20 million or more.

"Safe House", starring Ryan Reynolds and Denzel Washington, took the top spot with $28.4 million, followed by "The Vow", with $26.6 million. "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" came in third with $26.4 million.
