Louisiana Film Prize Festival is October 9 through 12. Here's a closer look at one of the Top 20 films, "#TheFutureIsCrowdFunded."
"#TheFutureIsCrowdFunded" is a comedy directed by Mindy Bledsoe. We asked Mindy a few questions about her short film.
What is your film about?
Is the future crowd funded? Brin and Brock's relationship is in jeopardy due to a successfully crowd funded venture.
What kind of message are you trying to get across in your film?
The future is crowd funded and that can be a double edged sword. Sometimes you have to put aside selfish needs for the greater good.

Where in Northwest Louisiana did you film?

We filmed at the airport, Bear's on Fairfield, Cross lake, Highland area, and Festival Plaza.

What were your impressions about Northwest Louisiana, specifically the Shreveport-Bossier area?

I have lived in Shreveport for 6 years now. It's a great place to shoot. People are supportive and giving and encouraging. I'm thankful to the friendships and professional relationships I've cultivated through my years here.

Would you film in this area again?

Absolutely! We are always actively trying to shoot something here!

$50,000 is on the line! What do you plan on doing with the money if you win?

Being an artist is expensive. This is my 4th short film and that debt has stacked up. I look forward to a clean slate and starting production on my first feature film "Cheers to Something".
Why should someone vote for your film?
Vote for our film because the story lingered in your head, and you just can't wait to see it again.
