Up-and-coming rapper Kenny Clutch has died after being targeted in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas which ended in a fatal car crash.

Clutch (aka Kenneth Cherry, Jr.) was driving down Las Vegas Boulevard Thursday when a Range Rover pulled up opposite his Maserati and began to open fire. The shots sent Clutch's car careening down the boulevard until it crashed into a taxicab which then burst into flames, killing both the driver and the passenger.

A passenger in the Maserati and three others were injured.

Police tell CNN that the shooting may have been the result of an earlier altercation which occurred outside the Aria Hotel and Casino.

The 27-year-old rapper leaves behind two children.
