Singer Ray J is backing off claims that his new song "I Hit It First" was written about ex-girlfriend and sex tape co-star Kim Kardashian.

During an interview with New York radio station Hot 97, Ray J addressed the speculation by saying, "It's a song, it's not about that, it's about a concept. People going way too deep. They just gotta keep it on the surface. I'm not trying to create no war, it's all love; we're doing music."

The lyrics sound like a thinly-veiled reference to Kardashian's current relationship with rapper Kanye West, with such gems as, "She might move on to rappers and ballplayers / But we all know I hit it first ... I had her head going North and her ass going South / But now baby chose to go West.," culminating in the chorus, "I hit it, I hit it, I hit it."

The singer said on Twitter that it's "not that serious." The Kardashian camp has stayed quiet as to how seriously they're taking this.
