Red on the Right, White on the Left, Insanity in the Middle… Welcome to the World of Eventing!

I try not to bore you too much with my posts about horses, but there is so much to be proud of in our area. You don't think of Louisiana as being a hot bed of equestrian sports, but right here, in our area, we have two young women making huge strides and names for themselves in the Eventing world. (If you don't know what eventing is, think all three phases of equestrian sports in the Olympics)

Both Sydney Conley Elliot and Julie Norman (my personal trainer!) are successfully campaigning, and you never know, one or both of them could end up on the next Olympic team for the US. Chronicle of the Horse posted an extensive article yesterday regarding Sydney and the Red Hills Horse Trials in Florida where she is competing this weekend. Julie has been receiving quite a bit of press herself as she finished 2nd at Rocking Horse running Advanced... just behind Buck Davidson. Julie is also currently ranked 15th on the overall leader board for 2013. Sydney is ranked as well and we look forward to both of these fine ladies going all the way to the top!
