Tell me this... What's the point in making an announcement when everyone already knows?!?!? In what the NY Times is calling "one of the worst-kept secrets in television," Katie Couric will reportedly announce her exit from 'CBS Evening News' this week, sources confirmed today.

A replacement for Couric will be announced during the first week in May, after she returns from London, where she will be covering the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Though unconfirmed, '60 Minutes' correspondent Scott Pelley is expected to replace Couric following her exit from the program.

Since reports first leaked in the beginning of April, Couric has remained tight-lipped about her departure. During an interview on 'The View' this month, Couric told Barbara Walters, "I’m not in a position to discuss it at this point."

Apparently, that will change this week.

Sound off: Who do you think should replace Katie Couric on 'CBS Evening News'?
