Rick Ross Cancels the Rest of His Tour
After canceling two of his concerts in North Carolina because of gang threats, Rick Ross has decided to scrap the second leg of his U.S. tour altogether. However, the Maybach Music Group honcho is blaming the “promoters” for the scrapped shows.
According to a statement (via AllHipHop.com), the Maybach Music Tour was supposed to continue through Dec. 16. Rozay’s reps said that the first leg of the trek was completed without a hitch but due to the “lack of organization and communication on the part of the tour promoter,” the remaining dates had to be canceled.
I want to apologize to all of my fans who I missed performing for due to the cancellations and want to let them know that I will get back to their cities,” said Ross. “I enjoyed my experience with my little bros Wale and Meek Mill and I’m ready to get back in the studio to make good music.”
Although Ross canceled his tour, Live Nation Entertainment has yet to update his tour schedule. As of this writing, fans can still purchase tickets for concerts in Nashville, Houston, Detroit and New York before the tour wraps up in Little Rock, Ark. on Dec. 23. So who knows? Maybe Ross is playing the bluffing game with the Gangster Disciples, which we advise he shouldn’t do.
The tour cancellation comes just as Ross celebrated his Grammy Award nomination in the Best Rap Album category for ‘God Forgives, I Don’t.’ Fellow MMG member Wale also garnered a nod in the Best Rap Song category for the Miguel-assisted ballad, ‘Lotus Flower Bomb.’
