State Representative Roy Burrell won't be running for Shreveport Mayor afterall.

Burrell sent me this email:

Erin,
It is with regret that I am announcing my withdrawal from the Shreveport Mayoral race.  I started my announcement with your radio show so I thought I would end with you knowing of my decision.  Thanks for your great coverage of my issues and concerns.  I will continue my work pushing for changes and economic projects in Shreveport-Bossier.  However,  with some of the serious issues that Shreveport is presently facing, I have not been able to get excited about this mayoral election. I had committed to Keith that I would not challenge him in the mayoral race if he had decided to run again due to our long friendship, but he decided too late not to run.  It through me a curve ball, after he finally decided not to run since I put my fundraising on hold during session.  As a sitting public official I plan to do what I can to assist in Shreveport's future, but at this time, I feel that I can do more outside the beltway than inside.  Plus I do have a great relationship also with the people of Bossier City.  Thanks again.

Roy
