Apparently touring isn't all gumdrops and roses.

I've always thought that going on a major world tour would be amazing, but also amazingly difficult. You're on the road for essentially an entire year. Every day a different city or country even. Always sleeping in hotels and never in your own bed. You'd get to see the world, but only for brief moments in between rehearsals and such.

For Sam Smith, it's also incredibly difficult to remain healthy.

Recently, Sam has opened up about this on Instagram.  In extreme instances, it's either eat what's available, which isn't always healthy, or don't eat at all. Working in radio, I can attest.

Sam has lost a lot of weight since we first met him and I'm willing to bet, he'd like to stay that way. There is a benefit to being fit as an artist. You're body is more immune to illness, you have higher stamina to do show after show, and you're less likely to run out of breath. I read somewhere that Beyonce will sing while jogging on a treadmill.

In addition, Sam talks about how big America is.

We know this because we live here, but for those across the pond it's something that is only realized once it's experienced. Rixton once said they realized how big America is when they flew from the warm south in shorts and flip-flops, only to be met with the bitter cold of the north... and they were still in the same country.
