Sara Gilbert discussed dealing with her own sexuality on 'The Talk' for "secret week" yesterday (Sept. 12). The actress admitted that it wasn't until she dated 'Roseanne' co-star Johnny Galecki that she realized she liked women.

"I thought he was super cute and had a total crush on him," recalls Gilbert of then-boyfriend Galecki. "And we started dating and he would come over and we would, like, make out, and then I would start to get depressed."

Galecki obviously took this reaction to their make out sessions personally, at which point Gilbert says she "told him that I thought it was about my sexuality, and he was super sweet about it."

After realizing that she was sexually attracted to women, Gilbert started dating one, explaining that no one on the show knew except for her Galecki. "It was something people could have found out about ... Like no one knew at the show for years, and Johnny held the secret the whole time. And I just felt like, always felt so scared. If it came out, what could happen? Could I lose my career? Will I ever be able to play a straight role again?"

You'd think the situation might have been a total blow to the man's ego, but he's surprisingly OK with it. He and Gilbert went on to work on 'The Big Bang Theory' together.

"I called him and I just said, you know, 'Is it OK -- I'm thinking of talking about this, and this story sort of starts with you. And I've got to say I made out with you and got depressed, which is kind of a bummer."

To which Galecki sweetly replied, "Of course, and you know I love you and I think it's really important and I'm so proud of you … You know, if you want, I will be there and I will hold your hand."
