‘Scandal’ Star Arrested For Battery

Columbus Short, who stars on the hit ABC series Scandal, was arrested Wednesday on charges of felony battery with serious bodily injury after allegedly getting involved in a physical altercation March 15.

TMZ reports that the incident took place during an engagement party at a Los Angeles bar when a patron allegedly made a comment about Short's wife. Police say that Short then punched the man, who later was transported via ambulance to a nearby hospital.

Short turned himself in to police after a warrant was issued for his arrest and now has been released from police custody, the Claremont Police Department told E! News.

The actor's bail was set at $50,000. He faces up to four years in prison if convicted.
