"American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest says he doesn't have a problem with the drama that went down between newly -named judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey.

Earlier this week during auditions in Charlotte, NC, tensions between the two judges boiled over with Minaj announcing that she wasn't going to put up with "her (bleep) Highness", a reference to Carey.

Seacrest said on his radio show Wednesday that spirited debate is just what "Idol" needs. "It did get intense", he said. "We want that. We want them to be on this panel together. This is a good team, a great team, to go out and look for the next American Idol ... the feedback that they give is very good."
