Ryan Seacrest has officially joined Matt Lauer and the rest of the "Today" show team. NBC announced Friday that Seacrest will serve as a special correspondent for the show.

Seacrest signed a two-year deal extending his on-air hosting duties for E! (an NBC/Universal property), along with broadcasting and producing for NBC.

And, beginning this summer, he'll be pitching in with coverage from this year's summer Olympics, which will originate in London.
