Selena Gomez & the Scene Are Breaking Up

Breaking up is hard to do, even when it’s temporary. Selena Gomez posted a note on her Facebook page on Saturday (Feb. 11) announcing that she and her band the Scene are going their separate ways for a little bit.

Gomez has already gone on record to say that 2012 will be more about films than music for her, so she is being selfless and generous by giving her bandmates the freedom to go out and do what they want while she pursues a different career path this year.

After posting a photo to her Instagram account gushing about the Scene, writing about how “grateful” she is to have worked with them and that “they have been with me since day one and I can’t believe it’s actually over. . .I could not have done any of this without you. Currently bawling my eyes out. I’ll miss you guys,” Gomez took to Facebook to further clarify what was going on to curious fans.

She posted:

“My band and I are going our separate ways for a while. This year is all about films and acting and I want my band to play music wherever with whoever. We will be back but, it will be a good while. I love them and I love you guys.”

At least Sel is only breaking up with the Scene… for now, instead of her BF, Justin Bieber. That, we could not handle!
