Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator is hosting a meeting today to talk about fighting crime in Shreveport. The Sheriff tells KEEL News he wants to bring everyone to the table to help find solutions.

"We've got a lot of crime here. We've got a lot of violence here. And just because the numbers might be up or down a little bit, if you put em all together and this is a dangerous place, at times."

State Senator Greg Tarver has also asked Governor John Bel Edwards to send someone from the Lousiana State Police to today's meeting with the sheriff to talk about the possibility of having troopers patrol the city.

Prator says all community leaders must work together.
