Experts are warning on Monday that anyone going outside to see the Solar Eclipse should wear protective glasses to avoid damaging their eyes. Obviously keeping young children inside during the eclipse is also important but what about your animals?

According to experts animals will start to act strange during the eclipse. For example during the eclipse birds will stop chirping and return to their nests, farm animals thinking it's night time will return to the barn and nocturnal animals will start to become active. But what about your pets?

Cats and Dogs don't normally look at the sun and the animal welfare organization believes that more than likely this will be the same during an eclipse but better safe than sorry. It's suggested that you treat the eclipse the same as you would fireworks with your pets, bringing them inside and away from open windows.
