Sharing a password and watch lists is actually quite romantic these days.

I used to use a former co-worker's Netflix to binge watch shows like Chuck and Revenge. He figured since he was paying the same amount regardless if I was on there or not, then I could use it for a couple of shows here and there. Then I moved away and he changed his password. We weren't dating, but it still kind of hurt.

Is Netflix the new "Facebook Official"?

According to a new survey by Netflix, 51 percent of people now say that a good indicator of their relationship being serious was a shared Netflix password. There's money involved which you are now sharing in, plus allowing someone to see everything you've watched and have their tastes influence your suggestion list really makes one vulnerable.

With this, 17 percent of people say they wouldn't share their Netflix password until they were engaged. I'm sure it's not uncommon to have Netflix privileges written into the pre-nup.
