Matt "Danger" Schnell is once again making Shreveport proud while chasing his dream of competing inside a UFC Octagon.

[UPDATE] Your first chance to watch Matt on The Ultimate Fighter is August 31 at 8 p.m. on FS1. There will be a local watch party at Buffalo Wild Wings in Shreveport.

You may remember Matt from MTV's "Caged" which aired back in 2012. Then, Schnell was an amateur MMA fighter, but since, he's racked up a very impressive record.

Since turning pro after "Caged" aired, Matt has compiled a record of 10-2, and now he's getting his well-deserved shot with UFC. At 26-years-old, Matt certainly expected his shot to come sooner, but is grateful for the opportunity at hand while he competes on the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter.

“I think when I was younger, I probably thought that I was gonna get there a little quicker, but as I started fighting (professionally), it didn’t go my way,” he said. “I expected to start off hot – 6-0, 7-0, probably get into the UFC. But I lost a few fights early on, so I had to kind of work my way back from underneath that. As I fought more, I realized that it would take a little time, especially in the weight class and given the circumstances. I realized that I’m gonna have to be 10-2, 11-2 before I get my shot. But this is about the right time, I believe. I’ve paid my dues.”

His UFC journey starts Wednesday, August 31st on FS1.

On behalf of everyone in Shreveport, go get 'em DANGER!
