Shreveport Needs a Unique NYE Celebration

It's crazy to me that Shreveport is known for festivals all year long but it's almost like New Years is forgotten about! You'll see the casinos and bars packed tonight so the people and tourism are here why not do something to bring people to our beautiful downtown. But we can't do something like everyone else with a boring ball drop so that's why I suggest The Shreveport Person Drop!

Every year we can vote for the Shreveport Person of the Year and celebrate them by dropping them for our New Years countdown! Just imagine thousands of people downtown for a festival and cheering on as someone is dropped and fireworks finishing off the celebration. This would easily get us national attention and bring people to town... Anything would beat Mississippi's Moon Pie drop!

I personally can't think of a better way to kick off the New Year!
