Shreveport Police Officer Arrested for Reported Sexual Assault

A Shreveport police officer is jailed in connection with an investigation into a sexual assault claim.

Patrol officers were called to an apartment in the 5700 block of South Lakeshore Drive, where a female told them a Shreveport police detective had assaulted her earlier in the day at his office at the Shreveport Police Complex. The woman was in 44-year-old Corporal James Greene's office being interviewed in connection with a harassing phone calls case she had reported.

The Sex Crimes Unit was called in to investigate. Based on information and evidence they gathered, working closely with officials from the Caddo Parish District Attorney's Office, they were able to get a warrant for Greene's arrest. He's charged with one count of abuse of office.

Greene surrendered to authorities at Caddo Correctional Center. He's been with the department since February of 2000, and was placed on paid administrative leave February 11 while the allegations against him were being investigated.
