This news absolutely made my day!

Beginning in November, you'll be able to fly directly to New Orleans from Shreveport Regional Airport. Anyone who's had to travel by plane to New Orleans from the Ark-La-Tex in the past certainly welcomes this news with open arms.

One minute you're driving down Youree Drive listening to K945, then the next you're drinking a hand grenade on Bourbon Street. That is now our reality and I'm pumped about it!

The airline making this possible is New Orleans-based Glo. They announced today that beginning November 15th, they'll be offering non-stop flights to Shreveport, Little Rock, and Memphis.

For those interested in the actual planes, they'll be 30-passenger Saab 340B aircrafts.

As for the fares, according to Mark Crawford of Shreveport Regional Airport, expect an average of $189 each way.
