Brittney Bre-Shay McGill was accused of the April 13, 2015 stabbing death of 21-year-old Gabrielle Cooper at the intersection of West 69th Street at Clift Avenue in Cedar Grove after the two got into a heated argument. McGill faces a sentence of up to 40 years in prison and could be sentenced as early as February 28, 2018, when she will next appear before District Judge Ramona Emanuel  to obtain a setting.
