Source Says Jessica Simpson And Baby “Doing Fine”

A source for Jessica Simpson told Us magazine that both mother and child are doing even better than expected.

"Jessica is doing great and really happy," the source says of Simpson, who can now be seen on NBC's "Fashion Star" as a mentor. "She's feeling well and relieved the baby is healthy."

Simpson gave birth to daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson Tuesday morning in Los Angeles. The baby weighed in at 9 lbs., 13 oz.

No word on when the public will get its first look at Simpson's and fiance Eric Johnson's new addition, but the source says right now the family is coming together to help her rest and take care of the baby.
