SPAR Announces Lottery For 2015 Mardi Gras Parades

Want to get a great spot for the Krewe of Centaur and Gemini parades for 2015 on East Kings Highway? Shreveport Public Assembly and Recreation (SPAR) has announced the details on how to get in on their Mardi Gras parade route reservation lottery.

Here's the scoop from Becky Berry:

“Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler!”  It is 2015 Mardi Gras Parade season!  The 2015 parades roll in February (Krewe of Centaur is February 7^th and Krewe of Gemini is February 14^th).  Both parades will begin at Lake Street/Clyde Fant Parkway and end at Preston/East Kings Highway.

And, SPAR is gearing up for the parades!  SPAR is currently accepting registration for the 2015 parade lottery for any parade-goers interested in potentially reserving a space along East Kings Highway.  The deadline to submit your name for the lottery is December 15, 2015.

Here’s how it works:

• Parade reservation renewals are sent to current space holders.  Those renewals are due by 4 PM on December 15^th.  Current space holders will receive their renewal letters by Nov 6^th (if any current space holder does not receive their letter this week, please contact SPAR Event Services).
• Any unclaimed spaces will then be available to those in the lottery on a first-come-first-served basis.  These spaces will be awarded beginning January 5, 2015.
• To register for the lottery, contact SPAR Event Services at 318-673-5100 before December 15^th (lottery registrations will be accepted Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 4 PM).  You will specify the parade you would like to reserve a space.
