Stage Center Presents ‘Steel Magnolias’

It seems everyone in the state of Louisiana has seen the film "Steel Magnolias" starring Sally Field, Dolly Parton, and Julia Roberts. Now you can see the original play that inspired the award winning film when Stage Center presents "Steel Magnolias" at East Bank Theatre Setember 16-24.

Stage Center’s fifth anniversary mainstage season concludes with tickets going on sale Monday, August 29 for "Steel Magnolias" by Robert Harling. SC’s Artistic Director, Jared Watson will direct the all-new staging.

"Steel Magnolias" follows the lives of six indomitable Southern women as they share their personal triumphs, tragedies, beauty tips, recipes, and more than the occasional piece of scandalous gossip in Truvy's beauty shop in Chinquapin, Louisiana. The production stars Alyssa Farmer (Shelby), Heather Peak Hooper (Truvy), Cynthia Riser Johnson (Ouiser), Rachael Lee Magill (Annelle), Janin Jones Pou (M’Lynn), and Patricia Reeves (Clairee.)
