Hip-hop mogul Marion "Suge" Knight is being investigated by the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department for his involvement in a hit-and-run accident which left one person dead and another injured.

NBC News reports that Knight was either driving or was a passenger in the car involved in the accident, which took place during a video shoot in Compton, CA.

TMZ reports that Knight was visiting the set where The Game, Ice Cube and Dr. Dre were filming a commercial for The Game's upcoming "Documentary 2" when he got into an altercation with a crew member. Knight then allegedly drove off in the vehicle, hitting a bystander, and left the scene.

The victim, TV star Terry Carter, was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, while the second victim's condition is unknown.

James E. Blatt, Knight's attorney, tells NBC News that the former Death Row Records CEO was making arrangements to surrender to authorities.
