‘SVU” Star Joining “True Blood” Cast

Miss Det. Stabler? Here's the next best thing!

Former "Law and Order: SVU" cast member Christopher Meloni has signed up to join the cast of HBO's "True Blood", which starts its fifth season next year.

Excecutive producer Alan Ball says Meloni will play "An ancient, powerful vampire who holds the fate of Bill and Eric in his hands." If anyone is going to boss those two around, it's the guy who played Chris Keller on "Oz."
