*Extremely Seinfeld voice* What is the deal with this Gambit movie, am I right? Channing Tatum’s long-developing and oft-troubled X-Men solo project has lost yet another director, as Gore Verbinski, who most recently helmed A Cure for Wellness, has exited the project — and though the split was reportedly “amicable,” this Gambit movie (and Tatum’s inability to keep a director on board) is starting to feel like a big ol’ prank.

It seems that Channing Tatum’s long-developing — and frequently delayed — Gambit movie is finally back in business. After losing two directors and his leading lady, Tatum took the X-Men spinoff back to the drawing board to re-develop the screenplay. With Fox’s X-Men universe quickly expanding following the success of Deadpool, it looks like the studio is ready to give Gambit the green light, and they’re eyeing Lizzy Caplan to join Tatum.

Given the fact that the first Kingsman movie was a spot-on homage to James Bond movies, you’d think we’d all be excited for more of the same. More debonair spy sequences, more dangerous undercover double-speak, and more gunfights in famous locations. Instead, 20th Century Fox has flipped the script, giving us a sequel that promises a delightful sendup of American action movies as well. What would happen if James Bond and John Rambo were forced to join forces to solve an international mystery? If the early trailers and credits are any indication, we’re about to find out.

Fox Releases Another Short Teaser for Tomorrow’s ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ Trailer
Last week, 20th Century Fox teased the first footage from Kingsman: The Golden Circle via ten glorious seconds of accelerated action. There were gunfights, and Julianne Moore making burgers (I think), and plenty more blink-and-you’ll-miss-it looks as the exciting new world of Matthew Vaughan’s film. So, secure in the knowledge that studios never release trailer teases without the trailer following shortly thereafter, we all gathered around our computers the following day and waited for our first look at the highly anticipated sequel. And waited. Aaaaaaand waited.

Hollywood is a magical land of opportunity where stars are made and exciting new stories are told every day. It’s also a land of crushed dreams where sometimes the projects you’re most excited for never come to fruition. Such is the case with South American border thriller Triple Frontier, once a Kathryn Bigelow project, until now boasting a cast of everyone’s boyfriends Tom Hardy, Channing Tatum, and Mahershala Ali, but as of today shelved once again.

As if the cast of Kingsman: The Golden Circle couldn’t get any better, Channing Tatum has up and joined the cast of Matthew Vaughn’s sequel to 2015’s breakout action hit. Tatum made the announcement via Twitter, where he also shared a teaser poster hinting at his part in the upcoming film, which also recently added Game of Thrones favorite Pedro Pascal.
