Last week we saw Phillip Phillips asserting his individual style, both musically and fashionably (remember the gray shirt Tommy Hilfiger wasn’t too keen on?) This week, that individuality paid off in a big way as the blue-eyed charmer took on Jonny Lang’s ‘Still Rainin” and garnered compliments every step of the way.
Teenage ‘American Idol‘ contestant Hollie Cavanagh performed Carrie Underwood‘s hit ‘Jesus Take the Wheel’ on tonight’s episode, where contestants were challenged to pick a song by their own personal idol. While the Texas native put her heart and soul into the performance, the judges had mixed feelings about her rendition of Underwood’s song.
Country gal Skylar Laine reminds us of Reba, but she idolizes Miranda Lambert and that’s whose song she chose to perform on tonight’s (March 28) episode of ‘American Idol.’ The hopefuls were allowed to sing songs by their own personal idols and Laine did Lambert proud with her crackling performance.
Tonight on ‘American Idol,’ Colton Dixon opened the show with an incredibly emotional rendition of Lifehouse’s ‘Everything,’ which the teary-eyed crooner cited as his “favorite worship song of all time.” It was a great pick for Dixon, especially considering the remaining nine contestants were tasked with choosing songs from their own personal idols for tonight’s episode.
Haley Reinhart appeared on the small screen once again last night, but this time she showed off her vocal chops on the CW’s ’90210.’
Given the massive success of ‘The Hunger Games‘ film adaptation — it raked in $155 million over the weekend, making it the third biggest opening of all time — internet parodies are already starting to stack up. But perhaps the funniest of all is a recreation of the film starring adorable Beanie Babies. Remember those?
The jackpot for the multi-state Mega Millions lottery now stands at $363 million, causing even those who don’t normally play to throw their hopeful hats into the ring for Tuesday night’s drawing.

Finally, Robert Pattinson is throwing aside his image as the teen sex icon perpetuated by his continuing involvement in the ‘Twilight‘ series. ‘Water for Elephants’ didn’t stray far enough from this, because even then he was all, “I love you, Reese Witherspoon. I can’t live without you.”
Now, we get to see him play a character who’d shoot a bullet through his own hand in the upcoming movie ‘Cosmopolis.’ Hot!
