Texas Student Drives Pink Barbie Jeep After Receiving DWI

Give her points for creativity, at least...

Tara Monroe, a student at Texas State University, lost her drivers' license after getting busted for driving while intoxicated. After her dad took her car away (Was it a T-Bird?) and gave her a bike instead, she made her feelings known to all when she told MySA.com, "Riding a bike around campus sucks. Like really sucks."

Her solution? She got herself a hot pink Barbie Jeep that she bought on Craigslist. It's not exactly the fastest thing on the road, only going up to five miles an hour on a 12-volt battery, but it definitely gets her a lot of attention as she drives in that section of town.

"People who don't know me are shocked but my friends weren't even surprised because I do stuff like this all the time," said Tara. "It goes pretty fast when it's just me, so I usually make [my friends] walk behind me like parents taking their kid out to play. I'm just happy everyone thinks this is so hilarious."

She added, “This is the best way I could have gotten my 15 minutes of fame, Basically, it was the best decision I’ve made in college, yet…”
