As Disney Infinity is about to be invaded by the Marvel universe this fall, a recent tease from two of Disney Interactive's bigwigs suggests that Star Wars will be coming to the toy box.

Disney Interactive executives John Vignocchi and John Blackburn were speaking to Newsarama about the upcoming Disney Infinity release when this exchange happened, strongly hinting that Star Wars is the next major Disney-owned franchise to hit Disney Infinity:

Nrama: Very cool! I like to end things on a tease, so is there something you’re excited about, maybe a little down the road?

Vignocchi: Well I did my tease today. My favorite character is one that has not yet been announced. It’s a female character. A Disney character. And we will not tell retail who it is for a very long time in order to keep it a secret!

Blackburn: I like your other tease better. “We can talk about the future, but that’s far, far away.”

Vignocchi: 2015 is not so far, far away anymore, is it?

The choice of phrasing here is what's key, since everyone who's familiar with Star Wars knows that the movies begin with "a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away."  It seems that next year could be the first time we get to bring the best of Disney, Marvel and Star Wars together in one game, and that would be pure insanity.

We'll keep an eye out for any Star Wars-related announcements from Disney Interactive Studios, but don't forget that Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes launches on September 23 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Wii U, PlayStation Vita and PC.
