Garrett Jacobs appeared in the second auditions episode of American Idol last Monday, March 12th. Garrett was one of three Louisiana contestants to make it Hollywood along with Cameron Theodos who is an Evangel graduate and Laine Hardy from Livingston. Garrett is a senior at Benton high school.

We got the chance to talk to Garrett and his grandmother Honey, who he mentioned in his audition on American Idol. Garrett mentions on the show that they call her Honey because she is so sweet. Take a listen to Carter and I asking about the audition process and Honey's perspective of her grandson's talent.

All we are allowed to know about Garrett and his current placement on the show is that he made it to Hollywood. Of course, American Idol doesn't want us to know the secrets too soon as expected. We do, however, want to wish Garrett the best of luck along with the other Louisianan contestants. Y'all are making Louisiana look good!

The new season of American Idol premiered Sunday, March 11th.
