The NCAA is usually looked at as a tough, unnecessarily dense organization, especially when it comes to the treatment of student-athletes. But this week, the NCAA stepped out of it's comfort zone and actually did something pretty compassionate.

This could turn out to be a great story on the Northwestern State Campus. Here's more on the story from the Louisiana Radio Network:

"(Great) news for the Demon basketball program as guard Jalen West has been granted a seventh year of eligibility. It’s rare for the NCAA to do this. West has missed the last two seasons with knee injuries."
